Our Entrance is Changing

This post details current and future access and entry arrangements for Foxglove Covert LNR.

The reserve gate, accessed via Cambrai Lines on Catterick Garrison, has been broken and preventing normal entry to the reserve since December 2025.

Foxglove Covert is in the process of developing a new entrance which will reduce disruptions to reserve access. The new entrance will be accessible from Waithwith Road and will not require visitors to enter Cambrai Lines or any other barracks.

Foxglove Covert is aiming to re-open fully with the new entrance in February or March 2026. Lots of work has taken place to prepare the new entrance, but there is still some work to be done. The completion of works on the new entrance is weather dependent, so a specific date for re-opening is not yet certain. Keep an eye out here on our blog, as well as our Facebook and Instagram pages, for updates. You can also join the Foxglove Covert mailing list (scroll to the bottom of the web page for the joining link) to receive email updates.

In the meantime we hope to get some pre-arranged, organised groups into the reserve, including our Little Explorer toddler group and volunteer groups. Check out our Events page for upcoming events. When you book on an event you will be contacted with further details about accessing the reserve.

Further information about getting to the new entrance will be made available on the How to Find Us web page once the entrance is opened.

We understand that disruptions to reserve entry over the years has led to disappointment for many, and are hopeful that this new entrance will provide more consistent access to the reserve and improve the visitor experience at Foxglove Covert.

Thank you for your patience during these uncertain times. The Foxglove Covert Team looks forward to welcoming everyone back to the reserve soon.
