Another busy day at Foxglove

Friday, January 26th 2018

We now have a fully replenished seed store, much to the delight of Colin who has been out and about across the reserve filling up the feeders in time for the weekend and the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch on Saturday.

Aside from seed deliveries and feeding station top ups we were also busy sorting through the workshop and wood store, as well as pairing up and fixing net ride poles throughout the morning.

We've had a number of visitors to the Field Centre throughout the day, including this little Field Vole who didn't quite make it past the entrance.

And not long after we also caught more than a glimpse of another type of vole by the pond dipping platforms (sorry for the poor quality, the image is taken from a video that can be viewed on the Foxglove twitter account here).

In other news, we will be getting our wetland revamp next Monday (29.01.18) when Willy comes in to fix the dams. In preparation for this we have been putting in stakes to delineate the sluices and pipes that interconnect the different ponds.
